About
Straight A Builders is a family-run residential construction company serving northern and central New Mexico. We design and build homes that respect the land, the climate, and the way our clients actually live.
From foundation to finish carpentry, every project is led by a senior builder on site — no handoffs, no surprises. Just straight lines, square corners, and houses that hold up.

FAQ
Everything to know before we break ground in New Mexico.
We build across central and northern New Mexico — Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Española, and Taos — including outlying neighborhoods within each region.
We focus on residential general contracting: ground-up custom homes (modern farmhouses, Spanish-style stucco, and estate-scale residences), additions, whole-home remodels, kitchens and baths, and outdoor living spaces.
Yes. Straight A Builders is a licensed and insured general contractor in the state of New Mexico. We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage on every project.
Most custom homes take 9 to 14 months from groundbreaking to move-in, depending on size, finishes, and permitting timelines. Pre-construction (design, budgeting, and permits) typically adds 2 to 4 months before that.
We offer both. Most clients choose a fixed-bid contract once design and selections are finalized, but we'll structure cost-plus or hybrid arrangements when that fits the project better.
Yes. Our pre-construction service includes site evaluation, partnership with your architect or designer, full permitting through the relevant New Mexico jurisdiction, and detailed budgeting before construction begins.
