We build across central and northern New Mexico — Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Santa Fe, Española, and Taos — including outlying neighborhoods within each region.
What types of homes do you build?
We focus on residential general contracting: ground-up custom homes (modern farmhouses, Spanish-style stucco, and estate-scale residences), additions, whole-home remodels, kitchens and baths, and outdoor living spaces.
Are you licensed and insured in New Mexico?
Yes. Straight A Builders is a licensed and insured general contractor in the state of New Mexico. We carry general liability and workers' compensation coverage on every project.
How long does a custom home take to build in New Mexico?
Most custom homes take 9 to 14 months from groundbreaking to move-in, depending on size, finishes, and permitting timelines. Pre-construction (design, budgeting, and permits) typically adds 2 to 4 months before that.
Do you offer fixed-bid pricing or only cost-plus?
We offer both. Most clients choose a fixed-bid contract once design and selections are finalized, but we'll structure cost-plus or hybrid arrangements when that fits the project better.
Do you handle permitting and design coordination?
Yes. Our pre-construction service includes site evaluation, partnership with your architect or designer, full permitting through the relevant New Mexico jurisdiction, and detailed budgeting before construction begins.
